CAPE TOWN CBD

EXPLORE THE HEART AND SOUL OF THE MOTHER CITY

$100

On this tour, you will experience the history of the Jewish community’s roots in Cape Town’s city centre. From the first synagogue to the Great Synagogue, from Jewish politicians and political activists to artists and artisans, you will witness the growth of a community. From a small service of 17 men in 1841 to a healthy and vibrant community today, this is certainly the tour to go on to understand how it all began, more than 175 years ago.
Highlights include the site of the first synagogue, District Six's rich Jewish history, a little known artefact in the South African National Gallery and the Gardens Shul.
